To Americans this is natural but to a Swede like me it is so strange. How can you store your round baled hay outside in the rain without it getting really bad? Can someone out there explain, please?
To me it does not look very good but if it was dangerous to the horses I suppose there would be no sound horses in America since everyone stores the hay like this here. In Sweden we rap the bales in plastic if we want to store them outside and I know that works just fine since we have done it successfully for three years now and the last bale we open in the spring smells just as lovely from flowers as the first one we opened in the fall.
